 Valentin Bogdan's 2016/2017 Season Highlights

Valentin Bogdan appears in the Europe and the US in 2016/2017 season, performing solo and chamber music.  In July 2016, Valentin can be heard at the Assisi Performing Arts Festival in Italy, in a performance of chamber music (including his world premiere of piano trio "Per Tre", , followed a few days later by a solo recital.  

Septemeber 2016 will be dedicated to new music, and it will feature Valentin performing his own compositions,Sonata No. 1 "Antithetical References" ,  at National Association of Composers USA concerts in  Columbus MS (Mississippi University for Women)

​October 2016 will see Valentin Bogdan performing solo concerts in Mapelwood New Jersey (St. Joseph Catholic Church Concert Series) and at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.  Program will feature works by Romanian composers (George Enescu, Paul Constantinescu, as well as Valentin's original compositions).

November 2016 will see Valentin Bogdan at the Mississippi Music Teachers Association Annual Conference, where he will perform with soprano Susan Hurley, and also give a paper on teaching music composition to pre-college students .

January 2017:  Valentin Bogdan and Julia Mortyakova will perform a duo piano recital at

Shandon Methodist Church in Columbia, SC (January 16th at 12 pm).  Program will feature works by Schubert and Chaminade.  On January 30th, Valentin will also perform a solo piano recital at Texas AM University Corpus Christi (featuring works by Scarlatti, Liszt, Constantinescu)

February 2017 will feature a number of performances of pieces composed by Valentin.  Metamorphosis IV will be performed on February 16th (7:30 pm recital) at Poindexter Hall, Mississippi University for Women and at the College Music Society Southern Regional Conferece, Austin Peay University,  Clarksville TN, Feb. 23 at 7:30 pm).

March 2017 will feature performances of pieces by Olga Harris and Cecile Chaminade at Music By Women Festival (Poindexter Hall, Columbus MS 3/3 and 3/4).  On March 13th, Valentin Bogdan and Julia Mortyakova will perform a duo piano recital at University of Montevallo (Alabama), 7:30 pm in LeBaron Hall.  On March 21st, the duo will perform a recital at Mississippi University for Women (7:30 pm, Poindexter Hall, Columbus, MS).  

April 2017:  Valentin Bogdan and Julia Mortyakova will perform at the Ellis Duo Piano Competition (Bellhaven University, Jackson MS).  On April 7th, they will perform a recital at Tennessee State University (Nashville TN).  On April 21/22 Valentin will perform with the MUW Jazz Ensembe at the Strand Theater in Vicksburg MS (7 pm on April 21st) and at the Alcorn State University Jazz Festival (April 22nd).
